Maintain 3 was released a long time ago, but it had so many issues that we were never able to implement it.

We (OSU Network Services) are talking about a rewrite for OSU, but I don't know if we will release it as open source software. I don't want to promise anything at this point. Currently we are working on getting Maintain 2 to support php5 and that is almost ready.

The OSL (http://osuosl.org) is also talking about doing a Maintain rewrite, with a focus more on data center integration. I imagine they will share it when finished.

Out of curiosity, why do you ask?

We have successfully ran Maintain within our test labs to do reservation-based IP assignment (this is an R&D requirement).

It has worked great and been an amazing tool for us, but now the server it is on is dying. We tried to vmware converter it over to our new environment (I think its on redhat 3?) and it was a no-go. We more recently tried to rebuild it on RHEL 6 64-bit and ran into the PHP issue.

At this point with updates and maintenance so dated, management wants us to look at other free solutions, but nothing really compares to maintain...

I am definitely interested in any updates or changes made and will definitely keep an eye on this distro list!

Thank you

- Adam

Awesome! I'm glad to hear someone out there still uses and likes Maintain.

I guess we'd better release our Maintain 2.5 with php5 support. Look for it in a few weeks.

Yes, please share the Maintain 2 updates to support php5.

University Housing uses Maintain to manage static reservation on several
dozen administrative networks.
